Growing up a Star Trek fan I've always loved the look of the damaged starship Constellation from the Doomsday Machine episode. The story was great, it had some great and memorable lines and lots of effects shots to drool and ogle. I know that to be REALLY canon I should use the Ertl 18" Enterprise kit, but I love the look that the 22" cutaway has. So with dremel in hand and a fools courage I dove in.
I think the main build is done. I'm sure I'll find a few small corrections and additions, but it's 99% done. Painting and dealing will be what makes this all fall together. I don't want to just spray black on the damage and say done. I have some ideas for replicating scorched metals. We'll see if it's a success.
